Fabrics & Home - Designer Spotlight: Nadia Watts And How Her Heritage Inspires Her Designs

Written by SANDRA MARDENFELD - FEBRUARY 6, 2023

Fabrics And Home touches on my inspiration and design process. I launched my debut fabric line, The Gem Collection, with Kravet Inc. based on the glasswork of my great-great grandfather, Louis Comfort Tiffany, founder of the famed Tiffany Studios. I am enamored at the complexity of his skills, his love for nature and colors, and how he used a combination of different materials and techniques, and of course, his keen eye for color

11 Laundry Room Makeover Mistakes You Don’t Want to Make written by Terri Williams

I shared some of my ideas with Terri on how to make the most out of your laundry room space:

“I find that having the laundry room by the bedrooms is actually most helpful for the person using the space daily since your clothes, bedding, and towels are all located nearby, so this makes putting things away quite easy.”

Nadia Watts’ New Fabric Collection for Kravet is Inspired by Iridescent Tiffany Glass written by Lauren Gallow

I shared with Lauren what my inspiration was behind my new fabric collection with Kravet:

“Five years ago, I was in New York and visited the Neustadt Collection of Tiffany Glass, which includes an extraordinary collection of Tiffany lamps, stained glass windows, and archival Tiffany glass. The archive includes sheets of rippled and folded glass, as well as individual glass jewels. It was an incredible experience to see the unique shapes and colors of the glass, and I thought, this needs to be on fabric. I wondered, how could we translate the iridescent qualities of glass onto fabrics?”
