Galerie Magazine - Designer Nadia Watts Teams Up with Kravet for a Vibrant Line of Textiles

I am very excited to share with you this beautiful article in Galerie: Designer Nadia Watts Teams Up with Kravet for a Vibrant Line of Textiles

Samantha included the moment- the exact spark of inspiration that started the Gem Collection… the ah-ha! I had while visiting The Neustadt and holding the Tiffany glass jewels…

“she imagined a product collection inspired by those pieces of jewel-toned glass. “This needs to be on a fabric,” recalls Watts. “This needs to be something else other than glass. You need to see this in another way.””

Thank you to Jacqueline Terrebonne and Samantha Emmerling!

American Cheese and Nacho Cheese by Benjamin Moore

“Two warm colors I use that are underrated are Benjamin Moore American Cheese and Nacho Cheese. These are in the middle of the color deck, and at first glance seem to have a fair amount of white, but don’t be fooled by this. Once they are up on the walls they are cheerful and a breath of fresh air.” —Nadia Watts

I added Persimmon Orange to the living room upholstered benches and then pulling from the art, I choose to introduce bright yellow into the accent pillows and then green chartreuse with a textured throw.

PANTONE Color of the Year 2022

PANTONE has announced Very Peri as 2022’s color of the year! PANTONE describes the color as a “Courageous presence that encourages personal inventiveness and creativity”… Very Peri is a unique color for PANTONE, it is the first time in history a new color was created for the Color of the Year.

I happened to be at The Neustadt Collection on the day the announcement came and was invited to look through the Tiffany Archival Glass and pull together a few examples that represent Very Peri to me. I am amazed to think this glass was originally made in the early 1900’s and now relates in color to the trends of today, 100 years later. What a special day to handle this glass.

I look forward to seeing where Very Peri pops up throughout the design world in 2022!
