Fall is the perfect time of year to curl up and dive into some new spooky thrillers. When the weather gets chilly outside, you'll want to have a cozy space in which to unwind already set up in your home.
Nadia Watts, the founder of Nadia Watts Interior Design, suggests creating a reading and relaxation area that you can enjoy all season long—and beyond.
"You don't need much space to create a cozy seating area where you can curl up with a book and a cup of tea," she says. Try an accent chair and side table positioned in the corner of your bedroom.

Think about where you hang your frame too, urges Nadia Watts of Nadia Watts Interior Design. ‘Most people hang their art too high; this can make even the fanciest art look cheap. A good rule is to hang your art at 60” from the floor, and centered.’
'Once you have it hung correctly, light it up! There are a lot of great products on the market for this, including wireless art lights that you can stick right on your wall, and angled can lights that will allow you to light your artwork from the ceiling,’ adds Nadia.

Oversized Handles
'A unique mix of materials and textures for kitchen cabinet knobs are having their moment including leather, Lucite, acrylic, wood and stone,' says Nadia Watts, founder of Nadia Watts Interior Design. 'Integrated pulls are sleek and functional and handleless cabinets are all the rage. Sleek, clean lines still rule with knobs and handles going incognito allowing simplicity to shine and the cabinetry to take center stage. On the flip side of the modern streamlined approach, vintage and antique styles are in, with distressed finishes and unique one of a kind vintage inspired designs.'

Painting a piece can totally change the look and feel and open up a wide variety of fabric options.

These chairs needed new paint and fabric. Designer and owner Nadia Watts of Nadia Watts Interior Design in Denver had the wood refinished and then painted the frames with a pleasant blueish-gray shade. “We reupholstered the seats and backs with two distinct fabrics and added a braid trim as a welt,” she says. Using two different fabrics created “an element of interest and provided more room for creative expression with color, pattern, and texture,” she says
