Thank you to House Beautiful and Kate McGregor for the feature—I love sharing my insights with such a talented group!

‘I love the many rounded-edge options now available. No longer is kitchen hardware square or rectangular with sharp edges… I am also seeing more historical and antique hardware emerge in residential projects. And I find vintage hardware hard to beat in terms of its quality and craftsmanship. There is nothing better than sifting through some old wood panels or cabinet drawers at an antique store and coming across some gorgeous old hardware.’ —Nadia Watts.

House Beautiful - 9 Design Trends From 2024 You’ll Still See Everywhere in 2025, According to Experts

It's time to discuss trends for the upcoming year! Thank you House Beautiful and Kate McGregor for asking our expert advice for trends we will continue to see in 2025.

Stained Glass - “I’ve always been drawn to color—the richer the better. I am the great-great-granddaughter of Louis Comfort Tiffany of Tiffany Studios and Glass, and Tiffany glass is full of classic gem tones and deep concentrated colors and those color palettes have been an inspiration for me throughout my career. Colors may come and go, however deeply saturated gem tones seem to always look chic. I have always believed and continue to believe that you cannot go wrong with the right mix of old and new. That perfect vintage item mixed in with modern and sleek.” —Nadia Watts

Decor can become more meaningful in our 30s and beyond. “Perhaps it's an antique from a relative or photographs from your favorite vacations,” Watts says. “In your 30s, you feel yourself choosing items that spark good memories and feelings versus utilitarian things that serve a basic purpose.”

House Beautiful - 9 Little-Known Destinations where you can still find Incredible Antiques.

Thank you House Beautiful and the lovely Sarah Lyon for including our little-known destinations to find incredible antiques in Denver and Palm Beach Florida!

Denver

Designer Nadia Watts, who is based in Denver, returns to many of the same local antiques shops time and time again. “South Broadway offers loads of antique and thrift stores, so you have something for everyone’s budget,” says the founder of Nadia Watts Interior Design. “Black Tulip Antiques (also selling on Chairish) is a go-to for me; they offer a highly diverse inventory of European furniture, accessories, lighting, silver, and decorative arts.”

Watts is also partial to Eron Johnson Antiques, which is located in a sprawling 5,000-square-foot warehouse. “With inventory dating from the 17th to the 19th centuries and originating from over 40 countries, Eron’s passion for antiques is on full display,” she says. “Eron has a love of peculiar objects as well as exquisite antiques, so you never know what exciting treasure you will find.”

Palm Beach Florida

While participating in the 2024 Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Palm Beach, Watts learned about many of the city’s incredible antique resources. “I have the best luck when I get to go on the hunt, and Show Pony Palm Beach is the ultimate hunting ground,” she says, describing the retailer’s many large warehouses “filled to the ceilings with treasures.” You can find pieces in many design styles, including Victorian, gothic, and midcentury.

A look inside Kips Bay Palm Beach!

What a wild and wonderful ride it has been! Designing The Lively Loggia and Jeweled Gallery at the Kips Bay 2024 Designer Showhouse in West Palm Beach, FL, was an exhilarating experience. Collaborating with The Shade Store, we created custom drapes using my Kravet Gem Collection Fabric, infusing the space with vibrant colors and luxurious textures.

Last week’s event at the Kravet showroom (Denver), hosted by The Shade Store, provided a fantastic opportunity to connect with the Denver design community and share the behind-the-scenes stories of our showhouse journey. I'm grateful to Kravet and The Shade Store for their amazing sponsorship, which made this project possible.

If you missed the discussion, not to worry! You can still take a virtual tour of the showhouse here, and check out this article, which features The Jeweled Gallery and offers inspiring design insights from the show.

JEWEL TONES

Several designers opted for jewel-toned colors in their rooms—especially shades of sapphire blue, emerald, and turquoise—but we think Nadia Watts Interior Design officially gave this trend star status. Inspired by her legendary great-great-grandfather, Louis Comfort Tiffany of Tiffany Studios, she incorporated the saturated colors found in his iconic stained glass.

From the turquoise Porter Teleo-clad walls to the sparkling green glass Currey & Company chandeliers, you feel like you’re literally stepping inside a jewel box. Whether you embrace this glamorous trend by lacquering your walls a deep emerald or opt for ruby-hued objets d’art, this color palette is endlessly versatile—and here to stay.
