The Colors You Need to Decorate With for '70s Design Style Written by Sarah Lyon

I added Persimmon Orange to the living room upholstered benches and then pulling from the art, I choose to introduce bright yellow into the accent pillows and then green chartreuse with a textured throw.

How to Transform Your Basement Into a Functional Office Space

I am excited to share with you this My Domaine article written by Lindsey Lanquist.

Start with these ideas first from the article :

  1. Figure Out How Much Room You Need

  2. Declutter your space- “Before redecorating your basement, consider decluttering it. This could mean getting rid of items you no longer need. Or it could mean completely clearing out your basement. Nadia Watts, principal designer at Nadia Watts Interior Design, says she likes this approach because it gives you a “clean slate” to work from—making it easier to see what upgrades your space needs.”

  3. Paint Your Basement an Office-Friendly Color- “One easy way to transform your basement? Repaint it. “A fresh coat of paint is a great way to start transforming the room,” Watts says.

Interior Design Trends of 2022 from 1st Dibs

1st Dibs sent out their Top Interior Design Trends for 2022 and number 7 caught my eye… Wood, Leather and other Natural Finishes.

Late summer, I was included in “Ahead of the Curve” panel discussion at the Las Vegas Market moderated by Luxe Magazine and identified upcoming trends. I recognized the trend of using Natural Materials and Artisan Made products. I have found that using natural materials is a great way to add texture to any room and can be incorporated into many different aesthetics. With the addition of a hand made piece to your design, there is a sense of grounding and embodiment that is created in the space.

Below I have shared a few my favorite products!

Solana Sconce from Troy Lighting and Hudson Valley

Foley Stone Side Table from Palecek

Beaumont Wooden Pyramid from Global Views

Mario Arm Chair from Palecek

PANTONE Color of the Year 2022

PANTONE has announced Very Peri as 2022’s color of the year! PANTONE describes the color as a “Courageous presence that encourages personal inventiveness and creativity”… Very Peri is a unique color for PANTONE, it is the first time in history a new color was created for the Color of the Year.

I happened to be at The Neustadt Collection on the day the announcement came and was invited to look through the Tiffany Archival Glass and pull together a few examples that represent Very Peri to me. I am amazed to think this glass was originally made in the early 1900’s and now relates in color to the trends of today, 100 years later. What a special day to handle this glass.

I look forward to seeing where Very Peri pops up throughout the design world in 2022!
